Mission Statement
The Universal Futbol (Soccer) Academy for school children promotes a positive interaction among students, develops team spirit, enriches the learning enviroment and serves a bridge across cultures represented within the city as well as its surrounding communities.
Purpose
The Universal Futbol (Soccer) Academy will draw participants from all over the Hayward, California area (Hayward, Ashland, Cherryland, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, and Fairview Areas). The Universal Futbol (Soccer) Academy seeks to involve: 1. Current School Age children from pre-school age to college age 2. Parents 3. The Community 4. Corporations and Business
Goal
As the Universl Futbol (Soccer) Academy for school age children will promote soccer at the same level football and baseball. It will provide students the oportunity to burn energy and earn better grades, thus contributing to improved retention. Soccer will provide more student participation, and create interest of untapped communuties. Soccer is the number one international sport and it is growing more popular in the United States for people of all ages.
Support Systems
The following Support Systems will be available to the soccer program participants: * A Universal Futbol (Soccer) Academy scholarship will be created for Students who can afford a uniform & equipment; * Players will be mentored by volunteers; * Soccer players will tutor students in the community; * Soccer players will perform volunteer work in the community: * Soccer players will assist in raising funds by performing task such as snack bar duties; * A Scholarship will be created for transferring soccer palyers to continue their higher education in four year colleges and Universities; * Tutoring will be provided to soccer players who have GPA's below 2.0
Soccer Levels of Play
Level I: Novice-Recreation Level II: Advance Level III: Intermediate Level III: Premier
The creteria for each level will be defined.
Fundraising
The following are example of fundraising activities that will be undertaken to help support this sport program in the Hayward Area: -Run-A-Thon, or Walk-A-Thon -Kick-A-Thon -Dance Hop 1950-1960-DJ -Soccer Exhibition Games -Soccer Tournament -Soccer and Basketball Computer Camp -T-shirt sales for supporting soccer -Spaghetti feed -Earthqueakes games ticket sales
